Dew flower
2022
In designing this humidifier, I drew inspiration from the natural water cycle. It simulates the sublimation and condensation of water vapor in nature. In this device, tiny droplets are heated and turned into steam, which slowly rises and eventually condenses on the suspended crystal petals. These crystal petals not only capture the droplets but also cleverly utilize their refractive effects to reveal the elusive beauty of water's flow and transformation.
This diagram illustrates the marvelous cycle of water, showcasing the eternal dance of its forms.
The outer circle depicts the natural water cycle, beautifully representing water in its three states within nature: vapor rising, dew condensing, and droplets falling. This process is not merely a physical transformation but an endless, delicate artistic expression of nature.
The inner circle reveals how a humidifier ingeniously integrates into the water cycle within an indoor environment. It does more than merely mimic the cycle found in nature; it creates a micro-ecosystem where the rise and fall of water vapor echo the rhythms of the external world, bringing the vitality of nature into our daily living spaces. Such a design not only improves indoor air quality but also enriches our living environment with poetic elements, making the flow and transformation of water a part of our everyday life, invoking a deeper appreciation and awe for the natural world.
Source of inspiration
As the droplets grow heavier, they fall one by one from the petals into the still water below, creating layers of delicate ripples.
Each element of the design praises the natural water cycle, as if the breath and rhythm of nature are captured in this moment.
This device is not just a humidifier; it is an artwork that allows people to rediscover and appreciate the everyday beauty of water.
Through this design, we transform a commonly overlooked natural phenomenon into a feast for the eyes and senses.
Dew flower
This humidifier ingeniously blends aesthetics with functionality, perfectly integrating its internal mechanisms with its external design.
The exterior is shaped like a vase, topped with a bouquet made of crystal-like elements.
The bouquet is set on a specially designed buoyant platform, so as the user adds water to the humidifier, the bouquet "grows" with the rising water level, as if blooming in tranquility.
Once the humidifier is activated, the water inside is transformed into a fine mist, which then condenses into droplets as it cools.
These droplets gradually accumulate enough weight to slowly drip from the bouquet on the vase, shimmering like pearls.
This process not only mimics the natural water cycle but also brings a fresh breath of nature indoors, revitalizing the home environment with harmony and vitality.
